Palghar Crime: Vasai Woman Alleges Sexual Assault By Hookah Parlour Owner On Pretext Of Marriage

Palghar, Maharashtra: A 28-year-old woman from Vasai has filed a legal complaint accusing a 37-year-old man, Krunal Ghansham Patel, of sexual assault, claiming he exploited her under the pretense of marriage. The incident allegedly occurred over a period of several weeks, from January 15 to March 10, 2025. The Vasai Police have filed a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), following the woman's complaint.
The complainant, a resident of Vasai, claims that Patel, the owner of a hookah parlor, coerced her into physical relations by promising marriage. She alleges that the assaults occurred multiple times at Patel’s residence in Vasai.
According to the complainant, Patel invited her to his apartment under the guise of marriage and took advantage of her trust by engaging in sexual relations during their meetings. She further claims that despite his promises of marriage, Patel continued to exploit her emotionally and physically without any intention of fulfilling his commitment.
Patel was arrested on May 3, 2025 after a formal complaint was lodged. The police have since initiated an investigation into the matter.
The police are currently gathering evidence and statements from both the accused and the victim.
