Navi Mumbai: The Navi Mumbai Traffic unit on Friday has announced temporary traffic restrictions in Vashi on March 30, 2025, due to a grand Shobha Yatra (procession) organized for Gudi Padwa.
The procession, led by the Hindu New Year Welcome Procession Committee, Vashi, is expected to witness participation from 2,500 to 3,000 people, along with 150 to 200 motorcycles, traditional dhol pathak, senior citizens, seven horses, seven trailers displaying various themes, and two tractors.
To ensure smooth traffic management and public safety, traffic movement from Koparkhairane to Vashi Railway Station will be restricted between 7 am and 12 pm. The affected route stretches from Blue Diamond Chowk to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk, Sector 17, Vashi.
Motorists are advised to take the Blue Diamond Chowk to Kopri Signal to Palm Beach Road route to reach their destination.
The traffic control notification has been issued under the Motor Vehicles Act, Sections 115 and 116(1)(a)(b). However, emergency vehicles such as police cars, fire brigades, and ambulances will be exempt from these restrictions. Citizens are urged to plan their travel accordingly and cooperate with the authorities to ensure a smooth and safe celebration of Gudi Padwa.
