Navi Mumbai: A pre-primary English-medium school teacher in Nerul Sector-18 has been booked for allegedly assaulting a Senior KG student, leaving a visible welt on his cheek. The Nerul police have registered a case under assault charges and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.
7-year-old slapped for not studying, left with a visible welt
According to police, the 7-year-old boy, a resident of Nerul village, was slapped hard across the face by his class teacher in April for not studying. The slap reportedly left a mark on his cheek, which his mother noticed when he returned home. The child revealed that the teacher had hit him.

Shaken by the incident, the boy stopped attending school. His parents later learned that the same teacher had allegedly assaulted five to six other children in a similar manner.
"Following their complaint, we booked the teacher and have begun further investigation," said a police officer from Nerul police station.
