Navi Mumbai: Ashram School In Chirner Faces Legal Action After Student Dies Due To Alleged Negligence
Allegations of negligence have surfaced as the school authorities allegedly failed to provide timely medical attention when the child complained of severe stomach and chest pain.

Navi Mumbai: A case has been registered against the management and staff of a government-aided primary Ashram School in Chirner following the death of a 9-year-old student, Srushti Raju Shid.
Allegations of negligence have surfaced as the school authorities allegedly failed to provide timely medical attention when the child complained of severe stomach and chest pain.
According to the complaint, 25 year old mother Shobha, Srushti, who was residing in the school hostel under the supervision of the school management, teachers, and staff, fell ill but was not taken to a hospital in time.
Instead, she remained at the hostel without medical intervention, alleged the mother. Due to this alleged negligence, her condition worsened, and by the time she was admitted to MGM Hospital in Kamothe, she succumbed during treatment.
Authorities have registered a case against Principal Appasaheb More, teacher Mahadev Doiphode, Superintendent Satish More along with other teachers and staff of the school. The child was reported to have died on December 19 last year and the case of negligence was registered on February 11.
“Following the passing away, we reported an accidental death report and were awaiting the post mortem report. The post mortem report claimed that the child had Pneumonia. We registered the complaint as alleged by the mother and reported the case when she approached us. Notices have been issued to the respective people named as accused in the case,” senior police inspector Jitendra Misal said.
