In a decisive move against unauthorized constructions, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) undertook a demolition drive in Nerul, acting on directives from Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde. The operation targeted an illegal G+3 RCC structure measuring approximately 3.60 meters by 8.30 meters, located at NL-1/A-9/7, Sector 8, Nerul.

Navi Mumbai: In a decisive move against unauthorized constructions, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) undertook a demolition drive in Nerul, acting on directives from Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde.
The operation targeted an illegal G+3 RCC structure measuring approximately 3.60 meters by 8.30 meters, located at NL-1/A-9/7, Sector 8, Nerul.
The property owner, Ananda Shelar, had previously served a notice under Section 54 of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966, on March 10, 2025. Despite the notice period elapsing, no action was taken to remove the unauthorized construction, prompting NMMC to initiate the demolition.
The operation was supervised by Assistant Commissioner and Divisional Officer of Nerul Division,. Jayant Jawadekar, and Junior Engineer . Sanjay Sontakke. The demolition team comprised 10 laborers equipped with gas cutters, breakers, and sledgehammers, and was supported by a police squad and security personnel.
NMMC has reiterated its commitment to stringent actions against unauthorized constructions, emphasizing that similar operations will continue to uphold urban planning regulations.
