The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has urged citizens to actively participate in the Swachh Survekshan 2024 by providing positive citizen feedback, aiming to secure the No. 1 ranking in India’s cleanliness survey. Currently ranked second in the country, Navi Mumbai has been included in the exclusive ‘Super Swachh League’, a prestigious category featuring only three cities.
While this recognition highlights Navi Mumbai’s consistent performance in cleanliness, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde emphasized the need for increased citizen engagement. He urged residents to ensure proper waste segregation at the source by separating wet, dry, and hazardous waste before handing it over for collection.
The NMMC has also intensified local cleanliness drives and seeks greater public participation to accelerate these efforts. Citizens are encouraged to maintain cleanliness not only at home but also in public spaces, particularly in front of buildings and residential societies.
As part of the Swachh Bharat Mission, residents can contribute to the city’s ranking by submitting feedback on cleanliness via https://sbmurban.org/feedback. Participants must answer 10 survey questions, and the NMMC is actively promoting the feedback link and QR code across various platforms.
To enhance city cleanliness, the NMMC has also launched an advanced grievance redressal system through the ‘My NMMC’ mobile app. This platform allows citizens to report and track cleanliness-related complaints efficiently.
“With the Swachh Survekshan 2024 evaluation in progress, we would like to urge residents to prioritize waste management, actively participate in feedback surveys, and utilize complaint mechanisms to contribute to the city's goal of becoming India’s cleanest city,” NMMC officer said.
