A major fire broke out in a godown at Lakdawala Bazaar in Nagpada on Saturday evening. Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) officials rushed to the site, and fire-fighting operations were immediately initiated. Civic officials confirmed that no injuries were reported in the incident.
According to the BMC's Disaster Management Cell, the fire erupted around 7:40 pm in a ground-plus-one-storey godown at Lakdawala Bazaar, located behind Raj Oil Mill in Nagpada. The blaze originated on the first floor and spread across an estimated 3,000–3,500 sq ft area.
The incident was initially classified as a Level 1 fire at 7:56 pm but was escalated to a Level 2 (major) fire by 8:00 pm due to its intensity. Teams from the MFB, along with Mumbai Police personnel and BMC staff from E Ward, responded promptly to begin firefighting and containment efforts.

The blaze was confined to electrical wiring, power installations, wooden furniture, and several mobile-accessory shops in the area. According to a fire department official, the affected zone was cordoned off, and firefighters managed to bring the situation under control by 10:40 pm.
No injuries were reported. The official added that the exact cause of the fire will be determined following a detailed investigation.
