'Mumbai Taxi Drivers Refused Rides For 45 Mins': Family Left Helpless During Medical Emergency

Mumbai, April 3: A troubling incident reported from South Mumbai has ignited debate over commuter responsibility and civic sensitivity, after a resident claimed taxis refused to help during a medical emergency.

According to the post on X, the incident occurred on 2 April at around 7:32 pm near AC Market signal in Tardeo. The resident alleged that multiple taxis refused to take a family member who urgently required medical attention.

Describing the experience as “pure indifference”, the individual shared the ordeal online, questioning whether such behaviour had become normal in Mumbai.

Responding to the complaint, Mumbai Traffic Police stated that the matter had been forwarded to the Tardeo Traffic Division for necessary action.

However, the complainant expressed dissatisfaction, claiming this was not an isolated incident. They alleged that earlier complaints made to the Regional Transport Office had not led to any visible action.

“If taxis cannot help during a medical emergency, then what is the point,” the user wrote, reflecting growing frustration among commuters.
