Mumbai: A four-year-old girl lost her life at the hands of her own father in Kurla, as per reports on Sunday. Parvez Siddiqui, in a fit of rage during a heated argument with his wife, allegedly assaulted her before turning his anger toward their daughter, Afiya Siddiqui. In a horrifying act, he threw the child to the ground, causing fatal injuries. Afiya was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.
Mumbai’s Vinoba Bhave Nagar Police arrested Siddiqui and charged him under sections 103(1) and 115(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act, as reported by IANS. A murder case has been registered and further investigation is ongoing.

In another tragic incident, a 30-year-old daily wage labourer, Rajesh Chauhan, was brutally murdered by his own wife, Pooja, with the help of her lover, Imran Mansoori. The crime took place in Malvani’s Rathodi area on the night of February 3.
According to police reports, Pooja and Rajesh’s marriage had been strained due to her affair with Mansoori, who was also a close friend of the victim. Seeing Rajesh as an obstacle to their relationship, the couple allegedly conspired to kill him. On the fateful night, Pooja slit her husband’s throat in front of their two children.
In an attempt to cover up the crime, Pooja and Mansoori transported Rajesh’s body on a motorcycle and dumped it in a deserted area 500 meters away. They then tried to mislead the authorities by filing a missing person report at the police station.

However, their plan unraveled when CCTV footage captured all three riding a motorcycle together before the murder. This key evidence raised suspicions, leading police to investigate the case from a new angle. Upon further questioning, both Pooja and Mansoori broke down and confessed to their crime.
On February 9, the police arrested the duo and charged them with murder. They were set to be presented before the court on Monday.
