Mumbai On High Alert After Social Media Threat Of Riots And Blasts In Dongri During Eid
Police officials confirmed that a thorough search operation was carried out in Dongri, but no suspicious activity was detected. Meanwhile, the cyber cell has launched a technical probe to trace the person behind the threatening post.

Mumbai: Mumbai Police have ramped up security measures following a social media post warning of potential Hindu-Muslim riots, arson, and bomb blasts in Dongri during Eid celebrations. The post also alleged the involvement of illegal Rohingya, Bangladeshi, and Pakistani infiltrators. Authorities have launched an investigation into the threat.
According to police sources, the alarming post appeared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday around 11 AM. The user, while tagging the Navi Mumbai Police’s X account, cautioned:
"Mumbai Police should be on high alert. On March 31–April 1, 2025, during Eid, illegal Rohingya, Bangladeshi, and Pakistani infiltrators residing in Dongri may incite Hindu-Muslim riots, arson, and bomb blasts!" Upon receiving the alert, Navi Mumbai Police promptly informed the Mumbai Police control room. In response, Mumbai Police intensified patrolling in Dongri and nearby areas to bolster security.
