Mumbai: The Western Railway in Mumbai has raised concerns about an outdated Fevicol advertisement situated in Bandra, asserting that it inaccurately reflects the present condition of the Mumbai local train system.
The hoarding, allegedly overseen by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), displays an archival photo of packed trains with passengers dangling from the footboard.
The railway has highlighted that the advertisement employs old imagery to inaccurately exploit an outdated stereotype of Mumbai trains, despite recent progress.
In the last ten years, the Mumbai Suburban Railway network has undergone significant enhancements, featuring new contemporary rakes, a transition from DC to AC power systems, and the addition of air-conditioned coaches.
In an official statement, the railway emphasized that more than 70 lakh passengers depend on Western and Central Railway services each day, and such representations detract from the continuous safety and infrastructure advancements.

Netizens have been firing back and trolling the western railways for claiming the Fevicol ad is deceptive. Some respond with sarcasm, while others are genuinely upset by it.
