Mumbai News: Western Railway Inaugurates 24x7 Rail Coach Restaurant At Bandra Station During Bandra Mahotsav
Western Railway’s Mumbai Central Division commissioned a unique “Rail Coach Restaurant” at Bandra Railway station on Saturday. This innovative facility was officially inaugurated by Ramdas Athawale, Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, and Adv. Ashish Shelar, Minister of Information Technology & Cultural Affairs, Government of Maharashtra.

Mumbai: Western Railway’s Mumbai Central Division commissioned a unique “Rail Coach Restaurant” at Bandra Railway station on Saturday. This innovative facility was officially inaugurated by Ramdas Athawale, Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, and Adv. Ashish Shelar, Minister of Information Technology & Cultural Affairs, Government of Maharashtra.
The inauguration ceremony was held as a key highlight of the ongoing Bandra Station Mahotsav, celebrating cultural vibrancy and infrastructural innovation at one of Mumbai’s busiest suburban hubs.
The Rail Coach Restaurant is a repurposed, decommissioned railway coach transformed into an air-conditioned, state-of-the-art dining space. Open 24x7, the restaurant promises a diverse menu catering to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian preferences, appealing to the taste buds of daily commuters, tourists, and culinary explorers alike.
"This initiative reflects Western Railway’s unwavering commitment to enhancing passenger amenities and delivering a unique travel and dining experience," said a senior railway official. "We are proud to present a facility that not only preserves our rich railway heritage but also meets the contemporary expectations of comfort and quality."
