Mumbai: A study tour was organised as part of the Induction Training Programme (ITP) for officers promoted to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) from the State Public Service Commission on Friday. The tour focused on Mumbai city and its suburban districts and was conducted by the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie. As part of this initiative, a team of newly promoted IAS officers paid a goodwill visit to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) headquarters today.
During the visit, the IAS officers were introduced to the historical architecture of the BMC headquarters and given an overview of the emergency management room. They also learnt about various ongoing projects and services managed by the corporation, ranging from solid waste management to public health and more.

The visiting team engaged with senior BMC officials, including Additional Municipal Commissioner (Western Suburbs) Vipin Sharma, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Projects) Abhijit Bangar, Deputy Commissioner (Reforms) Sanjog Kabre, Deputy Commissioner (Solid Waste Management) Kiran Dighavkar, Deputy Commissioner (Public Health) Sharad Udhe, and Director (Emergency Management) Mahesh Narvekar. The interaction provided an opportunity for the officers to gain firsthand knowledge about the functioning of one of India’s largest municipal bodies.
