Mumbai News: BEST Conducts ‘Air Raid Precaution’ Mock Drill At Colaba Depot To Bolster Emergency Preparedness
The drill was jointly conducted by BEST's Security and Vigilance Department, the Brihanmumbai Civil Defence department and the Home Guards. "The aim of the exercise was to enhance preparedness and ensure swift response in the event of an air raid or emergency situation" said an official.

In line with the directives of the Government of Maharashtra, the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) Undertaking organized an “Air Raid Precaution” (ARP) mock drill on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at its Colaba Depot.
The drill was jointly conducted by BEST's Security and Vigilance Department, the Brihanmumbai Civil Defence department and the Home Guards. "The aim of the exercise was to enhance preparedness and ensure swift response in the event of an air raid or emergency situation" said an official.
"The initiative underscored BEST’s commitment to safety, vigilance, and crisis preparedness in coordination with civic emergency services" further added official.
A total of 282 officers and staff members from the Transport Headquarters of BEST, along with 50 officers and personnel from the concerned department og Brihanmumbai actively participated in the mock drill.
The drill was conducted under the guidance of the BEST General Manager S.V.R. Srinivas, and was supervised by S. P. Hegde, Deputy Chief Vigilance Officer, and Ravindra Wadekar, Chief Field Officer of the Brihanmumbai Civil Defence department.
