A major fire broke out Tuesday early morning in a scrap godown on Khairani Road in Sakinaka, Kurla west. The blaze engulfed 20-25 tin sheds but no casualties were reported in the mishap.

The fire erupted at around 7am and subsequently spread to scrap materials, electric wirings and installations, garment and paper stocks, corrugated packing boxes, etc. After getting an alert, the fire brigade officials immediately rushed to the spot with eight fire engines, water tankers and an ambulance.
