Mumbai Fire: 45-Year-Old Woman Dead In Massive Blaze At SV Road In Santacruz (VIDEO)

A 45 year old woman died in the fire gutted in a parking area of a six storey building at Dheeraj Heritage, S V Road, Near Milan Subway, Santacruz West on Thursday evening. Tara Chiman Waghela is the name of the deceased. Apart from that twelve to thirteen bikes and 04 four wheelers burnt into ashes. 

According to information shared by the BMC the fire was level two which broke out around 5.08 pm on Thursday evening at the parking area of Dheeraj Heritage  building and stated two more females are likely to be trapped in the fire. There were seven fire brigade engines, five jumbo tankers, one quick response vehicle and one ambulance was deployed to douse the fire. Fire brigade also used two hose lines of the building to douse the fire.

According to Chief Fire Brigade officer, Ravindra Ambulgekar " There were cars and bikes parking on the ramp. Petrol started spilling from one of the bikes and it came into contact with the heated part of another vehicle and fire erupted and spread to other vehicles. Due to petrol and diesel in the parked vehicles, fire spread rapidly to the ground floor of the building. The roof of the parking lot was completely burnt." 

Ambulgekar said "There was one bank located on the ground floor. fire spread in the banks as well. bank employees managed to come out of the bank but one contract labour trapped inside the bathroom. She died due to suffocation and heat. As per the information of the bank manager another woman had managed to flee."

Recently, two fire incidents were reported in the western suburbs of Mumbai. There was a fire incident at Malad and another blaze was reported at Asim Industrial estate on Wednesday  wherein one twenty five year man named Nasim Khan sustained fifteen percent injuries.
