Mumbai: The Khar police have registered an FIR against four individuals, including Shalini Jagtap and her family members, for allegedly cheating an NRI businessman, Robin Karamchandani, of Rs4.20 crore. According to the complaint, Karamchandani met Jagtap in 2021, and she pretended to love him, eventually forcing him into a marriage.
Bandra Businessman Claims Fraud in Malegaon Property Investment
Karamchandani, a 62-year-old businessman residing in Bandra West, claimed that Jagtap and her family members convinced him to invest in land deals in Malegaon. He transferred Rs1.17 crore to Jagtap’s brothers’ accounts for the land purchase. However, he later discovered that he was not eligible to buy agricultural land as an NRI. Jagtap promised to return his money after selling the land but instead convinced him to invest more in another property deal.
