Mumbai: Eight more services on Metro Lines 2A and 7 from Monday
This increase will ensure there is a service every 7.28 minutes, an improvement from the 7.50 minutes now, though non-peak hour frequency will continue to be 10.25 minutes

Mumbai: Starting Monday, more metro services will be available on Lines 2A and 7. On Friday, the Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL) announced the launch of eight more services to support the growing passenger demand and to provide a comfortable public transport experience.
With the addition of these services during peak hours throughout the week, the total number will increase from the current 245 to 253.

As the services are being increased, the train frequency will increase, hence the passenger waiting time will be reduced from the present 7.50 minutes to 7.28 minutes.
During non-peak hours, the services will continue to operate every 10.25 minutes. However, on Saturdays, there will be 238 trips with the peak-hour frequency of 8.15 minutes and non-peak hour frequency of 10.25 minutes.
Similarly, on Sundays and major government holidays, there will be 205 trips whereby the frequency will continue to be every 10.30 minutes.
“Of the 30 rakes received for Lines 2A and 7, 27 have already been commissioned for passenger metro services. These additional services will improve connectivity by reducing waiting time, thereby increasing convenience on the metro network,” said SVR Srinivas, the chairman and managing director of MMMOCL.
