Mumbai Crime: 57-Year-Old Man Booked For Feeding Pigeons On Car Roof In Dadar, Violating Bombay HC Order
The accused, Mahendra D. Sanklecha, a resident of Gazdar Street, Chirabazar, Mumbai, has been booked following a complaint by Sandesh Vikram Matkar, 57, a junior supervisor from the G-North Ward of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Dadar (West).

Mumbai: The Shivaji Park Police have registered a case against a 55-year-old man for allegedly violating a High Court order by feeding pigeons from a tray placed on the roof of his car.
Complaint Filed by BMC Supervisor After Video Evidence Surfaced
The accused, Mahendra D. Sanklecha, a resident of Gazdar Street, Chirabazar, Mumbai, has been booked following a complaint by Sandesh Vikram Matkar,57, a junior supervisor from the G-North Ward of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Dadar (West).
According to the FIR, the incident occurred at around 7:30 AM on August 9, near the Gol Hanuman Temple, adjacent to Antonio D'Silva School, Deubai Ten, N.C. Kelkar Road, Dadar (West). Sanklecha reportedly arrived at the location in a Honda Amaze car (MH 01 BK 9038), placed a tray on the car’s roof, and began feeding pigeons.
Local residents strongly objected to his actions, prompting Sanklecha to leave the spot. However, a video clip of the incident later surfaced on WhatsApp, reportedly showing him claiming that 12 more vehicles would arrive to feed pigeons in a similar manner.
Based on statements from civic staff present at the scene, the video evidence, and inquiries made with the traffic police, it was confirmed that Sanklecha had violated the court’s directive against feeding pigeons in public places.

Following this, Matkar filed a formal complaint at the Shivaji Park Police Station. A case has been registered under sections 223, 270, and 271 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The police have issued a notice to Sanklecha and released him, while further investigation is underway.
