Mumbai Court Convicts 3 In 17-Year Drug Peddling Case, Grants Lenient 2-Year Sentence
A special court in Mumbai convicted three men in a 17-year-old drug peddling case. Considering their long trial period and no misuse of liberty, the court awarded lenient punishment of two years’ imprisonment along with a ₹15,000 fine, despite their conviction for drug-related offences.

Mumbai: Seventeen years after their arrest, a special court on Tuesday convicted three men for drug peddling and, showing leniency, sentenced them to two years’ imprisonment because they had faced prolonged criminal prosecution without evading trial or misusing their liberty. The court also imposed a fine of ₹15,000.
