Mumbai: Central Railway plans to extend pod hotel facility at CSMT to other stations too

Buoyed by the overwhelming response to the newly launched pod hotel at CSMT, the Central Railway considering to develop such facility at other stations also

Buoyed by the overwhelming response to the newly launched pod hotel at CSMT, the Central Railway considering to develop such facility at other stations also. According to Anil Kumar Lahoti, general manager, "We are keeping close eye on the success of this pod hotel at CSMT. If this continues, we will develop this type of facility at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus and other stations too."

Passengers are also happy with this facility. Santosh Savarkar (35) from Amaravati, said, "This is a wonderful facility, provides world class facilities at a cheaper rate and gives me a soothing comfort".

Gaurav Mahajan, a businessman of Yavatmal said, "It's a really cheap and best facility, which not only helps to store my valuables, but also provides a few hours for rest." said Mahajan.

Vishal Raghuvansi, said, "I was supposed to return in the evening by Duranto Express but when reached CSMT, came to know that the train is running late by more than 6 hours, then decided to book pod, because its safe, comfort and convenient"

" Sleeping pods is opened to give more comfort and cheaper stay options to the passengers at CSMT. There are a total of 40 pods including 30 single, 6 double and 4 family pods. This classy air-conditioned accommodation will provide full privacy, mobile charging facility, locker room facility, fire alarm, intercom, deluxe toilet and bathroom etc. Booking of these pods can be done through physical mode (at reception) and online also," said an officer of CR.
