Mumbai: CBI Books CGST Superintendent In ₹78.63 Lakh Disproportionate Assets Case
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has launched an investigation against a CGST Superintendent posted at Bhiwandi Commissionerate, having it's office at Parel, for allegedly amassing disproportionate assets worth Rs 78.63 lakh.

Mumbai: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has launched an investigation against a CGST Superintendent posted at Bhiwandi Commissionerate, having it's office at Parel, for allegedly amassing disproportionate assets worth Rs 78.63 lakh.
A written complaint dated 31.01.2025 had been received and verification of the said complaint disclosed that H. Kumar, CGST Superintendent, as a public servant, has intentionally enriched himself illicitly during the period of his office that is period from 01.06.2021 to 17.08.2023 and is in possession of disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs 78.63 lakh which is 358.45% of his known source of income, which he could not satisfactorily account for.
The verification of complaint has disclosed the commission of offence on charges of criminal misconduct by public servant and intentionally enriches himself illicitly during the period of his office, punishable under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act by H. Kumar.

The agency will be asking the accused public servant to join the investigation and record his statement after which it will decide further course of action. His family member is also under investigation by the CBI in the said case, sources said. The CBI has registered an offence on January 31 in the matter.
