Mumbai: The BMC has initiated the "Missing Link" road connection project between the 60-ft Vijay Fire Marg and Jangleshwar Mandir Marg (Khairani Road) in Chandivali.
During the course of this project, five constructions near Anandibai Surve Garden were found to be obstructing the path. The civic body issued notices to these structures and they were demolished, clearing the way for the "Missing Link" road connection on Thursday.
Currently, there is no direct road connecting the Chandivali area to Asalfa-Ghatkopar. Due to which, the local citizens have to take a detour via the Sakinaka junction to reach Ghatkopar.
Additionally, the road connecting the Khairani Road in Naher Layout is extremely narrow, causing heavy traffic congestion in the area. However, the civic body could not carry out the work due to five structures near Anandibai Surve Garden.
