The MIDC police have booked a 75-year-old businessman for allegedly sexually exploiting a 35-year-old woman for several years. The complainant has also alleged that he threatened to get her killed by wanted fugitive Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar.

According to the MIDC police, the FIR was transferred to them from the Amboli police station on Thursday. The police said that the victim approached the Amboli police earlier this week.

“The victim has stated in her complaint that the accused sexually exploited her and also took Rs two crore from her over a period of several years. However, when she asked for her money back, he threatened her, saying that he would get Dawood to kill her,” a police officer said.

The victim had also received a threatening phone call, purportedly from a member of Dawood's gang, warning her of dire consequences if she approached the authorities against the accused.

After recording her statement, the Amboli police registered an FIR of rape and criminal intimidation and subsequently transferred it to the MIDC police for further investigation.

“We have registered the complaint and are conducting inquiries into the matter. No arrests have been made in the case so far,” said senior police inspector Satish Gaikwad, MIDC police station.
