Mumbai: 25-30 Bikes At Phoenix Mall In Lower Parel Catch Fire; Visuals Surface
The fire was successfully extinguished by public using the hydrant system before the arrival of the fire brigade.

A fire incident occurred at the most popular Phoenix shopping mall in the city, located at Lower Parel. Around 25-30 bikes were burnt to ashes on Monday afternoon.
According to information shared by the Mumbai Fire Brigade, the fire was confined to approximately 25 to 30 bikes parked in the open parking area of Phoenix Mall premises, Senapati Bapat Marg, Lower Parel. The fire incident occurred at 1:18 pm, and the fire was extinguished after twenty minutes, around 1:40 pm.
Fire contained by public
The fire was extinguished by members of the public using a line of the hydrant of Phoenix Mall before the arrival of the Fire Brigade. Upon reaching the spot, firefighters used the first aid line of one fire engine.
The Fire Brigade department deployed one fire engine, one jumbo tank, one quick response vehicle, and an ambulance to attend to the fire incident.
Ravindra Ambulgekar, Chief Fire Brigade Officer, said, "There were electric bikes and scooters parked in the open space. The fire erupted in one of the scooters and spread to other two-wheelers. The firefighting equipment of the mall was in working condition; their staff used extinguishers and hose lines of their own. Later, our fire team reached and doused the remaining fire.
"Prima facie, a short circuit might be a reason behind the fire. We checked the CCTV footage, which shows one two-wheeler started burning, and later the fire spread to other vehicles."
Ambulgekar also ruled out any foul play behind the fire of bikes. Fire Brigade officers are still investigating the matter.
