Mumbai: 20-Year-Old College Student Dies By Suicide From 14th-Floor Terrace In Matunga After Alleged Heartbreak, Battled Depression
On the day of the incident, her friends accompanied her to the terrace to talk. However, during their conversation, she suddenly jumped.

According to police sources, initial investigations suggest that she was suffering from depression and took this extreme step due to emotional distress. A diary recovered from her residence contains notes indicating her feelings of despair, though the police are verifying whether the handwriting is indeed hers.
The incident occurred on Tuesday night at Techno Heights, where the deceased lived with her family. Two of her friends—a male and a female—had come over to console her regarding personal issues. As per police reports, the student was in love with a boy who did not reciprocate her feelings, leading to her distress. On the day of the incident, her friends accompanied her to the terrace to talk. However, during their conversation, she suddenly jumped.

Tragically, as she fell, she hit the window of a neighboring building before landing approximately 15 feet below in the premises. She sustained critical injuries and was immediately rushed to Lokmanya Tilak Hospital in Sion, where doctors declared her dead.
Upon receiving the information, Matunga Police arrived at the scene and sent the body for a post-mortem. Senior Inspector Rajendra Pawar confirmed that the student was battling depression, which likely led to the suicide. Police are also reviewing CCTV footage and recording statements from eyewitnesses present at the time. Further investigations are ongoing.
