Alphonso mango prices have eased at APMC Vashi as arrivals reportedly increase from Ratnagiri and Devgad. Premium boxes now cost Rs 2,000–Rs 6,000, down from over Rs 8,000 earlier this season. The improved supply follows a delayed harvest and is expected to lower retail prices across Mumbai and Thane in the coming days.

Navi Mumbai: The Agricultural Produce Market Committee market in Navi Mumbai's Vashi, the primary wholesale fruit hub for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, is witnessing a steady rise in arrivals of Alphonso mango, bringing much-needed relief in prices after a costly start to the season.
What Is The Price Of Alphanso Mangoes Currently?
Traders at the Vashi market said premium Alphonso boxes are currently priced between Rs 2,000 and Rs 6,000, depending on the size and grade of the fruit. Each box typically contains around 5 to 9 dozen mangoes. This marks a major correction from February and March, when limited supply and weather-related delays had pushed prices beyond Rs 8,000 per box.
The recent influx of produce from key growing regions such as Ratnagiri and Devgad has reportedly stabilised supply in the market. The quality of incoming consignments has improved, with fruits showing proper maturity, along with the signature saffron colour and aroma associated with the premium variety.
The 2026 mango season had initially been delayed by nearly three weeks due to irregular winter temperatures in the Konkan belt. However, with supply now picking up pace, the market has started to normalise, benefiting wholesalers and retailers alike.
Prices Might See Hike After Akshay Tritiya
The drop in wholesale prices is likely to reflect in retail markets across Mumbai and Thane in the coming days, making the fruit more accessible to consumers. However, prices are expected to remain relatively firm until the festive demand around Akshaya Tritiya on April 19, when mango purchases traditionally surge.
While the current price range offers better value compared to the early season, traders suggest that consumers looking for the best combination of quality and affordability may find the ideal window in late April and early May, when peak harvest is expected to further boost supply.
