Mahashivratri In Mumbai: Huge Number Of Devotees Flock To Babulnath Temple, Offer Prayers To Lord Shiva | Watch

Mumbai: A large number of devotees gathered at Mumbai's Babulnath Temple on Sunday, February 15, on the occasion of Mahashivaratri and offered prayers to Lord Shiva. Devotees were seen offering flowers, milk and bel leaves to Lord Shiva, the Shiva Lingam. Police personnel have been deployed in the temple premises to crowd and ensure the smooth movement of visitors.

Film director Madhur Bhandarkar also visited Babulnath Temple and offered prayers to Lord Shiva. While speaking to the media, Bhandarkar said, “Devotees from Mumbai and all over the country visit Babulnath Temple on this auspicious day. I had the darshan, and it felt very good.”

The chief priest while speaking to IANS said that lakhs of devotees visit the temple every year to seek the blessings of Lord Mahadev. Speaking about the significance of the festival, he added, “On this day, those who worship and perform rituals for Lord Mahadev have all their desires fulfilled.” Not just Babulnath Temple, in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra, large numbers of devotees throng to Lord Shiva temple from the early hours of the day to mark the occasion.

Political Leaders Extend Greetings To Devotees

Earlier in the day, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis extended his heartiest greetings on the auspicious occasion. He prayed that the divine power of Lord Shiva bless everyone with strength, peace, and unwavering faith.

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde shared a devotional verse dedicated to Lord Shiva and offered his heartfelt wishes to the people. In his message, he prayed at the feet of Lord Bholenath for the fulfillment of everyone’s sincere wishes and relief from life’s hardships, highlighting the spiritual essence of the festival.
