Governor of Maharashtra, C P Radhakrishnan, visited the ancient Mumbadevi temple at Bhuleshwar on Friday evening to offer prayers and worship the goddess after whom the city of Mumbai is believed to have been named The governor prayed for the prosperity and peace of Maharashtra, and for worldwide harmony and tranquility.

Mumbai: Governor of Maharashtra, C P Radhakrishnan, visited the ancient Mumbadevi temple at Bhuleshwar on Friday evening to offer prayers and worship the goddess after whom the city of Mumbai is believed to have been named The governor prayed for the prosperity and peace of Maharashtra, and for worldwide harmony and tranquility.
Radhakrishnan was welcomed by Hemant Jadhav, manager of the Mumbadevi temple trust.

Radhakrishnan performed the rituals and worshipped Maa Mumbadevi with great devotion and faith, said Jadhav. The governor brought flowers and puja materials from Raj Bhavan, his official residence on Malabar Hill. His principal secretary, Dr Prashant Narware, was with him during the visit.
Radhakrishnan also worshipped at other temples in the complex, where Mahant Ajay Vyas performed the rituals for him. During this time, prominent businessmen, dignitaries, and intellectuals from the surrounding area were present. Radhakrishnan later interacted with the gathering of devotees.
