Maharashtra Government Announces Insurance And Improved Facilities For Ashadhi Wari Pilgrims In 2025

MUmbai: In preparation for the annual Ashadhi Wari pilgrimage, the Maharashtra government has announced a comprehensive support plan for Warkaris, including group insurance coverage and enhanced medical and infrastructure facilities.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reviewed the arrangements and ordered immediate repairs to rain-affected routes to ensure a safe and smooth journey for the thousands of devotees walking to Pandharpur. The government will also ensure adequate water supply, electricity connections and waterproof tents at Palkhi halts. As in previous years, toll concessions will be given to vehicles ferrying Warkaris.
