Maharashtra Forest Minister Ganesh Naik Holds Janata Darbar In Thane, Assures Action On Public Grievances
The public gathering was held at Raghuvanshi Auditorium on Monday. More than 650 written applications on various issues were submitted by citizens.

After the successful turnout seen at the Janta Darbar hosted at Vashi, State Forest Minister and Guardian Minister of Palghar District, Ganesh Naik , conducted another gathering at Thane.
The public gathering was held at Raghuvanshi Auditorium on Monday. More than 650 written applications on various issues were submitted by citizens. " Those matters which could be addressed immediately were discussed with officials present. In case of long pending matters the applications will be addressed in a time-bound manner, as per the minister’s directions," said a representative from the minister's office.
At the gathering Janta Darbar was stated to be a means to bring governance closer to the public. " It is not possible for every citizen to visit the state secretariat (Mantralaya) to present their grievances, which is why initiatives like the Janata Darbar bring governance closer to the people," said Naik.
A major issue raised at the Janata Darbar was the plight of residents in unauthorized buildings in Kalyan-Dombivli. Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Dipesh Mhatre and citizens submitted a memorandum, urging justice for affected residents. Responding to their concerns, Naik is stated to have acknowledged that homebuyers in these buildings had been deceived and assured that the government would explore solutions while respecting court rulings.
Residents from Diva, where the High Court has ordered action against 54 illegal buildings, also met Minister Naik, requesting a halt to the demolition process. The Ministere recalled that since becoming a minister in 1995, he has been holding Janata Darbars regularly in Thane, Mira-Bhayandar, Navi Mumbai, and all talukas of the district.
