Maharashtra: 104 Candidates Demand EVM-VVPAT Matching In 31 Districts
According to the office of the chief electoral officer (CEO) reverification process will be undertaken for the EVMs and VVPATs of 755 election booths.

In the midst of a spate of allegations over the process of voting and counting on EVM machines, as many as 104 candidates from 95 assembly constituencies from 31 districts have submitted applications for matching and confirmation of the EVMs and VVPAT data.
According to the office of the chief electoral officer (CEO) reverification process will be undertaken for the EVMs and VVPATs of 755 election booths.
The prominent candidates who have submitted their applications include Kedar Dighe who contested against Ekanth Shinde from Kopari Pachpakhadi, Yugendra Pawar who fought against his uncle Ajit Pawar from Baramati, Rohini Khadse daughter of NCP leader Eknath Khadse from Muktainagar, former minister Rajesh Tope from Ghansawangi, Hitendra Thakur and his son Kshitij Thakur from Vasai and Nalasopara respectively.

Senior Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat who received a shocker in Sangamner has also applied for the process. Besides him, Shiv Sena candidate Vinod Ghosalkar (Dahisar), Naseem Khan (Chandivali), Fahad Ahmad (Anushaktinagar) are among the other applicants.
