Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Sunday continued to target the BJP led government at the Centre over the deployment of central probe agencies and Income Tax department against the opponents especially the Maha Vikas Aghadi leaders in Maharashtra. Days after Income Tax raids over the Shiv Sena corporator Yashwant Jadhav, who is the BMC Standing Committee Chairman, Raut taunted it seems there is income and tax only in Maharashtra and not in BJP ruled states. He claimed that these raids were conducted with an eye on BMC elections.

"I think there's Income and Tax only in Maharashtra, no Income and Tax in BJP-ruled states. BMC elections are here, so central agencies have work only in Maharashtra and West Bengal; no work in rest of India. All is well there," Raut said. He added that "We are seeing all this, heaven is also watching and let them do whatever they want to do."

The Income Tax department on Friday conducted searches at the premises of Jadhav on charges of alleged tax evasion. The schedule of the BMC polls is yet to be announced.

Raut had recently shot off a letter to the Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu had alleged that ED and other probe agency officials were reduced to puppets of their political masters as they have even admitted that they have been ‘’asked by their bosses to fix me.’’ He had also announced that he would expose how some ED personnel were allegedly running a 'criminal syndicate' of the BJP.

On UP Polls

Raut reiterated that Uttar Pradesh will witness a change amid the polling for the fifth phase of the assembly elections. He noted that the support for Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav shows that the change is inevitable.

"Aaditya Thackeray had been to UP. I think there is going to be a change in UP. People have made up their minds. In the atmosphere we saw, there was a neck-to-neck fight. The support for Akhilesh Yadav shows the change," said Raut.

Aaditya, who addressed rallies for Shiv Sena candidates in UP last week launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government and called it a "jumla sarkar" by saying that the new path has to be followed in the state. He also said that people here want a change and they are supporting Shiv Sena this time.
