Devendra Fadnavis, Sunetra Pawar Among Maharashtra Leaders Seek Blessings At Kamakhya Temple In Assam Ahead Of Himanta Biswa Sarma Swearing-In - VIDEOS

Maharashtra Deputy CM Sunetra Pawar and NCP MP Praful Patel, who are in Assam for the swearing-in ceremony of the new state government, visited the Kamakhya Temple to offer prayers on Tuesday. Yesterday, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis also sought the blessings of Maa Kamakhya. The leaders are in Guwahati to attend the oath-taking ceremony of Chief Minister-designate Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Ministers Sunetra Pawar and Eknath Shinde arrived in Guwahati on May 10 to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Himanta Biswa Sarma. Extending her heartfelt congratulations, she said, "The people have once again placed their trust in the NDA government by giving it a majority. Therefore, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Chief Minister, all members of the NDA, and the entire public."

Himanta Biswa Sarma will take the oath as the Chief Minister of Assam for a second consecutive term, marking the beginning of the BJP-led NDA government's third consecutive term in the northeastern state. Apart from Sarma, four ministers are also expected to be sworn in.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Union minister Sarbananda Sonowal and BJP national president Nitin Nabin, along with over 40 NDA chief ministers and deputy chief ministers, will be attending the oath ceremony at the Khanapara Veterinary College Field.

The BJP-led NDA retained power in Assam with a sweeping two-thirds majority in the just-held assembly polls. The BJP won 82 seats in the 126-member House, while allies Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) secured 10 seats each.
