Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, Singapore DPM Gan Kim Yong Attend Green & Digital Maritime Corridor Dialogue At JNPA

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong participated in a dialogue on the Green and Digital Maritime Corridor held at JNPA as part of India Maritime Week on Tuesday.

CM Devendra Fadnavis, with Gan Kim Yong, Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore and Jeffrey Siow, Minister of Transport for Singapore, presided over the MoU signing and exchange ceremony between the Government of Maharashtra and Mapletree Investments Pte Ltd., Singapore, at JNPA, Uran.

The signing marks a major step towards international collaboration, paving the way for an investment of Rs 3000 crore and the creation of 5000 direct employment opportunities across Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, and other industrial precincts in Maharashtra.

In an X post shared by the Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, he wrote: "It was an absolute honour to welcome HE Gan Kim Yong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry of Singapore and Mr Jeffrey Siow, Minister of Transport for Singapore, at JNPA, Uran."

He further added, "Maharashtra and Singapore continue to strengthen cooperation to develop port facilities, boost trade and deepen economic ties for mutual growth and opportunity." He also added that this strategic partnership will drive the development of Logistics & Warehousing Parks, Industrial Parks and Data Centres.

In addition, the Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis mentioned that, "along with Gan Kim Yong, Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore and Jeffrey Siow, Minister of Transport for Singapore, reviewed and inspected the soon-to-be inaugurated Phase 2 of PSA's newly constructed Bharat Mumbai Container Terminal (BMCT) at JNPA, Uran."
