CISF Coastal Cyclothon 2025: Bollywood Stars Welcome Cyclists At Gateway Of India As Ride Reaches Mumbai
The CISF Coastal Cyclothon 2025, an ambitious initiative covering India’s 6,553 km-long coastline, reached a major milestone today as the cyclists arrived in Mumbai on Thursday evening. The event, aimed at raising awareness about coastal security and community vigilance, saw an overwhelming response as hundreds gathered at the Gateway of India to celebrate the riders' journey.

Navi Mumbai: The CISF Coastal Cyclothon 2025, an ambitious initiative covering India’s 6,553 km-long coastline, reached a major milestone today as the cyclists arrived in Mumbai on Thursday evening.
The event, aimed at raising awareness about coastal security and community vigilance, saw an overwhelming response as hundreds gathered at the Gateway of India to celebrate the riders' journey.
The arrival was marked by an electrifying atmosphere, with enthusiastic cheers from the crowd and a special appearance by Bollywood icons Jackie Shroff, Boman Irani, and Suniel Shetty, along with cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar.
The cylists were welcomed by flower garland. The celebrities extended their support to the initiative, commending the cyclists for their dedication and highlighting the importance of securing India's vast coastline.
“The event featured traditional dance performances, cultural showcases, and community interactions, reinforcing the strong bond between security agencies and coastal residents. School children, local fishermen, and ex-servicemen joined in to show their support, further amplifying the campaign’s reach. The firshermen also showcased their cultural Koli dance,” a spokesperson from CISF said.
The Cyclothon, which began from Lakhpat in Gujarat on the West Coast and Bhakkali in West Bengal on the East Coast, has so far covered 3,306 km. The journey includes 1,921 km on the West Coast and 1,385 km on the East Coast. Along the way, the cyclists have engaged with over five million people through rallies, interactions, and digital outreach.
With Mumbai marking the halfway point, the riders will now continue their journey southward. Their upcoming destinations include Goa on March 23, Chennai on March 25, Mangaluru on March 26, Cochin on March 29, and Kanyakumari on April 1, where the event will conclude.
“The CISF Coastal Cyclothon is more than just a ride; it is a call to action for coastal security, unity, and vigilance. Citizens are encouraged to follow the journey, support the initiative, and participate in upcoming events,” the spokesperson appealed.
