Mumbai, Jan 16: A sensitive email created panic on Friday afternoon after it was received by both the Bombay High Court and Esplanade Court. According to DCP Zone 1 Pravin Munde, who spoke to The Free Press Journal, the email arrived between 2 pm and 2.30 pm.

Police verification

Munde confirmed that the email contained only two to three lines and, after verification, was found to be a hoax message. “The email did not contain any credible threat. However, as per protocol, necessary checks were conducted. A non-cognisable (NC) offence will be registered at Azad Maidan Police Station,” Munde told FPJ.

Precautionary checks conducted

Police teams carried out precautionary inspections around the court premises, though no suspicious activity or object was found. The cyber cell has been alerted, and efforts are underway to trace the source of the email.
