BEST Expands Fleet With 24 New AC Buses To Improve Connectivity Across Mumbai

Mumbai: BEST Undertaking is expanding its air-conditioned (AC) bus fleet to enhance its service and improve connectivity across Mumbai. Following the introduction of AC buses on routes A-7, A-511, and RC53 last week, BEST rolled out another 24 AC buses starting Tuesday.

In this second phase, two key routes will get upgraded services. Route A-340, connecting Ghatkopar Station (West) to Agarkar Chowk, will see the addition of 15 AC buses. Route A-422, running between Vikhroli Depot and Bandra Bus Station (West), will have nine new AC buses.

The expansion caters to the north-eastern suburbs of the city. It is part of a broader effort to modernise Mumbai’s public transport and bridge service gaps by addressing the issues with a dwindling fleet, a BEST spokesperson said. “With Mumbai’s rising temperatures and growing commuter demand, the addition of these AC buses is expected to provide a more comfortable and efficient travel option, the spokesperson said.
