As part of the 134th birth anniversary celebrations of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the Panvel Municipal Corporation’s Education Department, organized speech and essay competitions at Loknete D.B. Patil School on Monday, April 7.
The event sawparticipation from over 2,654 students across municipal and private schools, making it a grand success. Competitions were first held at the school level, and winners progressed to the final round at the municipal level.
Students from 10 Panvel Municipal Corporation schools and 35 other schools—across Marathi, Hindi, Urdu, Gujarati, and English mediums—participated with enthusiasm.
Grades 5 to 7:
Speech: 63 participants
Essay: 60 participants
Grades 8 to 12:
Speech: 48 participants
Essay: 51 participants
Open Category:
A total of 30 participants from various professional fields such as law, medicine, and education took part.
The competitions aimed to inspire students and citizens alike to reflect on the life, values, and legacy of Dr. Ambedkar.
The event stands as a testament to Panvel Municipal Corporation’s continued commitment to promoting education, social awareness, and civic engagement through public participation.
