Pakistan's PM Shehbaz Sharif Performs Umrah In Mecca Alongside Other Delegation Including Asim Munir During His Visit To Saudi Arabia

Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has performed Umrah on Thursday, August 6, 2026, with Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of the Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir and other Pakistani delegations during their visit to Saudi Arabia. PM Sharif arrived in Saudi Arabia on Thursday with a high-level delegation, where he was received by Jeddah Governor Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi.

Pakistan PM performed Umrah in Mecca

According to Pakistan's Prime Minister's Office, the delegation visited Masjid al-Haram, where they offered prayers and performed the Islamic pilgrimage. During the visit, Prime Minister Sharif prayed for Pakistan's peace, stability, economic prosperity, and the well-being of its people. The delegation also offered special prayers for the Muslim world. He was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Federal Ministers Khawaja Asif, Atta Tarar and others were also part of the delegation.

The Saudi visit comes as Pakistan continues to strengthen its strategic and economic partnership with the Kingdom. Saudi Arabia remains one of Pakistan's closest allies, providing financial assistance, investment commitments, and employment opportunities for millions of Pakistani expatriates.

Meeting with Mohammed bin Salman

Ahead of the Umrah, Prime Minister Sharif is scheduled to hold meetings with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. The two leaders reportedly discussed ways to expand bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, energy, defence, regional security and various aspects of mutual cooperation. They also exchanged views on developments in the Middle East and other issues of mutual interest.

The meeting is also expected to focus on expanding trade, economic collaboration and investment, further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries, and exploring new avenues of cooperation across multiple sectors.

Visuals released by the Prime Minister's Office showed Sharif, Munir, and other delegates dressed in Ihram as they performed the religious rituals at the Grand Mosque in Mecca.
