Bollywood star and Gen-Z favorite Ananya Panday has been making waves not just with her acting and fashion-forward appearances, but also with her growing interest in holistic wellness. Recently, the Kesari 2 actress opened up about a new health regimen that has positively impacted both her physical and mental well-being- a gut cleanse diet.
A conscious shift towards health
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Ananya revealed that over the past few months, she has been following a gut cleanse routine. “It’s been very healthy,” she shared, adding that she has seen significant improvements in her energy levels and overall mood. Unlike the late-night eating habits she previously maintained, Ananya now makes it a point to have her final meal by 7 PM, embracing a form of intermittent fasting.
Why a gut cleanse diet matters?
A gut cleanse typically involves eliminating processed foods, added sugars, dairy, gluten, and other potential irritants from one’s diet, while increasing intake of fiber-rich vegetables, fermented foods, and hydration. The idea is to restore balance in the gut microbiome- the complex system of bacteria and microorganisms that play a crucial role in digestion, immunity, and even mental health.
The impact
Ananya emphasised how the change made her feel lighter and more energised the next day. Many nutritionists agree that an early dinner and a longer fasting window can help improve digestion, reduce bloating, and enhance sleep quality-all of which contribute to increased vitality.
What’s more notable is the actress’s proactive approach to understanding her body. She has started cutting out foods that don’t agree with her, showing an awareness of food sensitivities. “I think it’s better to start young-it really helps later,” Ananya said, highlighting the long-term benefits of early health awareness.
