Sev Spat Turns Fatal: Indore Man Killed For Serving Sev To Brother But Refusing To Serve Neighbours

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Sev is the favourite snack of Indorians and is an essential add-on for many people to anything they eat.  But who could have thought that refusing to serve Sev at a bhandara could cost a man his life that too at the hands of his neighbours?

The unfortunate deceased was an employee of Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) and has been identified as 30-year-old Dharmendra alias Golu, a resident of Kulkarni Ka Bhatta who used to install paver blocks.

When Dharmendra brought sev-nukti for his brother, the accused, Sanjay Bangar, Abhishek Bangar and Akash demanded some as well. When he refused, they started abusing him, leading to an argument and an altercation. However, locals intervened and Dharmendra returned home only to return later to the spot to collect his slippers and get killed by stabbing with a knife. Following the stabbing the deceased was rushed to the hospital but died on the way.

The incident occurred around midnight on Friday in Pardesipura area. Police registered a case of murder against Sanjay Bangar, Abhishek Bangar and Akash all of whom worked at a garment shop. One of the accused has been arrested and police are searching for the other two. Dharmendra’s brother Devendra said that a bhandara was organised in the locality for Maha Shivratri, and they had gone to eat around 8 pm. When Dharmendra brought sev-nukti for his brother, the accused demanded some as well. When he refused, they started abusing him, leading to an argument and an altercation. However, locals intervened and Dharmendra returned home.

Devendra further said that Dharmendra had gone back to take back his slippers when women from the accused's family confronted him. They held his collar and the three accused assaulted him. During the fight, they stabbed him in the abdomin, causing severe injuries, leading to his death.
