Kukshi (Madhya Pradesh): Kukshi police arrested one person and seized a pickup truck carrying 120 crates of illegal beer, on Thursday. They caught the smuggler near Bhanvaria village and seized the beer and the truck worth ₹8.31 lakh.
Police got a tip that someone was moving illegal alcohol in a pickup truck on Barwani Road. Acting on this information, officers set up a roadblock near Bhanvaria village.
When the Mahindra pickup came from Nisarpur, police signalled it to stop. The driver tried to flee but police surrounded the truck and caught him before he could escape.
During the search, police found 120 crates of beer hidden in the vehicle. The beer was worth ₹3.31 lakh while the pickup truck cost ₹5 lakh, making the total seized items worth ₹8.31 lakh.
Police arrested the driver, Sunil Chauhan, who lives in Dholkheda village. SDOP Sunil Gupta said they have filed a case against the accused.
The police team that carried out this operation included inspector Rajesh Yadav, sub-inspector Nilesh Malviya, head constable Nitin Kaushal and several other officers.
