MP’s Nagda Traders Oppose 10 PM Market Closure, Demand Implementation Of 24-Hour Policy

Nagda (Madhya Pradesh): The Nagda Vyapari Mahasangh has protested against police action to close shops at 10 pm and submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, seeking uniform market rules.

Traders said the state government's 24-hour market operation policy should also be implemented in Nagda. The memorandum was submitted to sub-divisional officer Ranjana Patidar and CSP.

The federation said tea-poha centres, eateries, restaurants and ice cream parlours operating at night serve the public but are forced to close at 10 pm, while liquor shops and bars allegedly continue operating later.

Traders demanded uniform rules for all businesses and said small traders should not be unnecessarily harassed.

They also sought clear guidelines for police to implement night trading in accordance with the state government's policy. Federation president Dinesh Agarwal led the delegation.

Demand grows to extend market closing

MAHIDPUR: BJP leaders, aldermen and office-bearers in Mahidpur have demanded an amendment to the order requiring the market to close at 10 pm.

They submitted separate memorandums to the SDO, DSP and police station in-charge, seeking an extension of the closing time. The leaders urged the authorities to revise the existing order.
