Kasrawad/Mandleshwar (Madhya Pradesh): A team of 150 police officials seized 985 litres of hand-made liquor and 16,700-kg Mahua Lahan worth Rs 21 lakh in Khargone with the help of drone. Collector Bhavya Mittal, SP Dharmaraj Meena and Assistant Excise Commissioner Abhishek Tiwari lead the operation.
Raids were conducted in Somakhedi village under Mandleshwar police station area and Bhilgaon village under Kasrawad police station area. The operation was important because there had been previous attacks on excise and police teams by local criminals in these villages.
Around 150 officers took part in the operation to ensure safety. The drone helped spot places where illegal liquor was hidden, leading to successful raids. Authorities destroyed Mahua Lahan and seized the liquor.
During the operation, 25 cases were registered and four people were arrested from the spot. Cases were filed under different sections of Madhya Pradesh Excise Act.
Maheshwar tehsildar Rakesh Sastya, SDPO Manohar Singh Gawli, Mandleshwar police station in-charge Deepak Yadav, Kasrawad police station in-charge and excise officers Devraj Nagina, Mohan Bhayal along with more than 100 officers and employees were present.
