Indore (Madhya Pradesh): An 18-year-old boy who was catching fish from a drain in the rain, was electrocuted by a live wire lying nearby. The incident occurred on Sunday evening near Gadbadi Puliya area under Rajendra Nagar police station limits when the boy along with his friends went to catch fish in a drain.
Not knowing that a live wire was lying nearby, he came in contact with it, receiving a severe electric shock. He was rushed to MY hospital where he was declared dead.
According to the police, the deceased was identified as Rizwan, son of Rahim, a native of Khandwa district who was staying at his aunt’s house in Martand Nagar. He did not study, due to which his parents had sent him to his aunt’s house. He used to work as a labourer in Choithram Mandi.
His family members said that Rizwan had gone to the drain near the Gadbadi Puliya with his friends and was trying to catch fish by making a rope of iron wire, when he received an electric shock from the open wire lying there.
The police began a probe and got the post-mortem examination of the deceased conducted.
