Khandwa (Madhya Pradesh): Khandwa Municipal Corporation has secured a significant grant of ₹59.76 crores from the state government under the “Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment” scheme.
This achievement is attributed to the dedicated efforts and continuous follow-up by Mayor Amrita Amar Yadav, aimed at enhancing infrastructure, strengthening roads and beautifying key areas in the city.
The approved works include several major projects. One key project is the construction of a road from Shivaji Chowk to the station, passing through the District Hospital and Ghantaghar.
This 1800-metre road, estimated to cost ₹10.58 crores, will feature CC roads, street lights, dividers and beautification efforts in the surrounding areas.
Another project involves the construction of a CC road from Rameshwar culvert to three culverts, spanning 1,100 metres for ₹6.24 crores. Additionally, Bada Bam Chowk will undergo beautification for ₹32.45 lakh, including an entrance gate and plantation.
Improvements to the Jalebi Chowk to Dharm Kanta Road will cost ₹2.36 crores, while the MR-12 road development will cover 4,450 metres and cost ₹27.01 crores. Lastly, the MR-13 road from Ramnagar to Bypass Road will be developed for ₹9.69 crores.
