Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Tilak Nagar police arrested a man and a woman for assaulting a 37-year-old woman and snatching her gold chain on Monday evening. The jewellery and the vehicle used in the crime have been recovered.
According to police, complainant Nidhi Garg, a resident of Samriddhi Park Colony, reported that she was returning home on her scooter with her daughter around 6:30 pm.

Near Scheme No 140, in front of JMB, a man driving a two-wheeler with a woman riding pillion approached at high speed, hit her from behind and caused Nidhi and her daughter to fall. The duo then tried to pull the gold chain with a pendant from her neck.
When she resisted, they assaulted her before snatching the chain and attempted to flee. However, the accused also fell from their vehicle during the incident and were nabbed by the police with the help of locals.
The accused have been identified as Raj Tarani of Dewas and Varsha Panwar of Jawahar Nagar. A case has been registered against the accused under Section 309(6) of the BNS and further investigation is underway.
