Indore: UPI Fraud Gang Busted In Mobile Theft Crackdown, 3 Arrested
Police busted a mobile theft gang and arrested three of its members who used to steal mobile phones from crowded areas and marketplaces.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Dwarkapuri Police busted a mobile theft gang and arrested three of its members who used to steal mobile phones from crowded areas and marketplaces.
The accused would not only steal phones but also unlock them, activate UPI IDs using the victim’s number and transfer money from their accounts. Police recovered two mobile phones worth ₹ 50,000 and ₹ 16,000 in cash from their possession.
The arrested accused have been identified as Vicky alias Vijay Singh of Vyas Nagar, Rehan of Laxmi Nagar and Amitof Laxmi Nagar.
During interrogation, they allegedly confessed that they targeted busy areas during festivals to steal mobile phones.
Once they got the phones, they would breach security and unlock the mobile phones. Later, they activated UPI IDs and transferred money from the victim’s bank accounts to their own.
They used the stolen money for online shopping and ATM withdrawals to fulfill personal desires.
The accused also revealed the names of three other accomplices Yash Solanki, Rahul and Ittu alias Dipansh of Vyas Nagar who were also involved in similar crimes. Further investigation is underway.
