Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Tribal Affairs Minister Vijay Shah visited MY Hospital on Thursday to assess the government scheme implementation and also to check the health care facilities for the tribal. Along with interacting with patients, he reviewed the blood bank and the molecular unit for sickle cell treatment.
He said that his visit was not a formality but aimed at ensuring progress in government health schemes. He also highlighted that under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, patients receive treatment worth up to Rs5 lakh, and Ayushman cards are being issued at MY Hospital. He praised the hospital’s sickle cell treatment programme, calling it one of the best in India, with facilities like bone marrow transplants, which earlier required treatment abroad.
He assured that there is no shortage of funds for healthcare improvements, noting that the state now has over 25 medical colleges, compared to just six earlier. The tribal affairs department has already provided Rs 2 crore for advanced medical facilities. Meanwhile, Shah also inquired about Rani, a student from Khandwa, who was admitted after a serious accident.
